Wide Open Walls returns for third year August 8-16

Updated: Aug 14, 2019

Join Sacramento in celebrating creativity and community through street art this month, as the Wide Open Walls mural festival returns for its third year!

Wide Open Walls’ inaugural year was 2017, with the goal of bringing Sacramento’s alleyways and unused walls to life. The festival has since received both national and international attention, and brought the talents of renowned artists to Sacramento’s walls.

Ranked among the top mural festivals in the US, Wide Open Walls brings positive impact to Sacramento by developing economic opportunities, giving citizens a sense of pride and belonging, facilitating the creation of a visually engaging outdoor art gallery, and more. The festival consistently invests in the twenty-two square miles of the Sacramento Promise Zone by bringing murals—and their accompanying benefits—to many locations within the area.

Many events are scheduled alongside the murals themselves, including:

Aug. 7th: Paint the Park with Sacramento Republic FC

Aug. 8th: Opening Event: Crocker ArtMix

Aug 9th: North Sacramento Block Party at Uptown Market

Aug. 10th: Summer Spark Art Park Party

Aug. 10th: Wide Open Walls Art Market Party @Urban Hive

Aug. 15th: Mural Summit Panel Discussion @ The Rink Studios

Aug 17th: Closing Event: Street Party and Concert
