As part of the Sacramento region’s process to move Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing work forward, a series of focus groups will be held in six communities. BBC Research & Consulting is conducting the community stakeholder focus groups to discuss economic and housing barriers to residents in the Sacramento Valley region. They are conducting an Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice on behalf of area cities, counties and housing authorities.
This HUD-required study will assess the region’s fair housing landscape and develop actionable goals to increase housing choice and access to opportunity for all residents. Although this is a HUD-required study, it involves more than housing. The purpose is to break down barriers that residents face in finding housing and accessing the means for economic opportunity—quality educations, good jobs, public transportation and environmental health. You are invited to be part of the discussion of barriers and solutions.
