Can your organization benefit from having nurses provide FREE health resources and services? If you would like to learn how, RSVP today!
The Sacramento Promise Zone's partnership with Samuel Merritt University (SMU) and their Registered Nurse (RN) to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) students provides free health resources and services in the Promise Zone. These nurses are part of SMU's Community Nurse Corps (CNC), a group of nurse scholars that are placed at organizations in the Sacramento Promise Zone region.
The CNC is to expand and include nursing students from other local universities such as UC Davis School of Nursing, Sacramento State, and the University of San Francisco, Sacramento in addition to Samuel Merritt. These students can provide resources and services such as:
Health screenings
Community health and wellness referrals
Mindfulness based stress reduction
Health fairs
Physical activity opportunities
Health education
Community health needs assessments
There will be an opportunity to learn more about how your organization can acquire nursing students to provide services and resources like the ones mentioned above at an information session on Tuesday, February 19 from 1:30-3:30pm at UC Davis Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing, Room BIMH 1000, 2570 48th St, Sacramento, CA 95817.
Parking: Parking structure #2 near Lawrence J. Ellison Ambulatory Care Center and across from Betty Irene Moore Hall is $2/hour. There is also visitor parking in Lot 12 (see maps for both).
